About me
My name is Lisa and I am the immensely proud owner of Buttercourt Valais Blacknose Sheep. I have grown up on our family farm, caring for and rearing many animals over the last 25 years but I knew I wanted to begin a little project of my own. I had no idea what that would be until I was introduced to the Valais Blacknose breed and I fell in love. Thankfully the whole family love them too and it truly is a family run business with both my brother Rob and my Mum Sybil working alongside me looking after these delightful sheep.
When I first saw the Valais Blacknose Sheep back in 2018, I knew I had to have some of my own! That was when my Valais venture began .....

Nature
Valais Blacknose Sheep are known to produce good quality meat but they are also well known for their wool. It is particularly popular for crafts such as felting and making carpets. They have a gentle nature, are easily tamed, and this combined with their striking appearance means they make the most perfect pet.
They are all unique and have their own cheeky characters. Looking after them reminds me so much of looking after a pet dog, they want to be with you, follow you around everywhere and if they have their way, they even demand treats
